I can't say enough about Tami Davis. I knew I wanted Tami to trim for me before I even bought my horse!
I first met Tami at a horse expo. She and I had a chat about hoof care, why natural trims are better for the horse, as well as proper diet and hoof boots. When I got my horses and began needing trims for them, Tami was the only person I called. She has shown herself to be knowledgeable, reliable, and has a genuine care for my horses and their feet.
My paint horse Cinnamon had very neglected feet when I bought her, but since Tami began trimming her, she has grown a beautiufl set of hooves. They no longer crack or break, and cleaning them now takes about 5 minutes. Down from the 2 hours it originally took when her feet hurt and bothered her so much she wouldn't let anyone near them.
I have enjoyed working with Tami and getting to know her. You have a very skilled professional in Tami, and we will miss her a lot!

I was telling Harold how it was hard to believe this was the last time you would be here and that it was more a social girl chat hour than just getting a job done. We just babied Beamer and he loved it and was not too much a problem most of the time. I enjoyed the time and looked forward to your visits for the social company and will truly miss that. You have a way with people and horses that puts the horse and the client at ease that you will get the job done right and are confident in your skills. I am glad you are getting to finally move to your dream home. Hope your move goes smooth. God Bless Thanks for all your hard work and your knowledge of horses.

I met Tami Davis several years ago. She and I became friends and riding buddies, and she taught me how to trim before she mentored me through starting my own formal education with Liberated Horsemanship.
Tami has done so much to further the education of the horse-keeping public. She’s tested and proven theories on her own horses and competes them barefoot. To me, that’s the test of the trim, the diet and the horsekeeping.
I’m now trimming professionally in Texas. She’s also mentored two others that have taken over her practice in Nebraska. She’s been the voice of barefoot education at the Nebraska Expo several years in a row, standing for our horses, and doing it with a sweetness of character that furthers our cause. Her passion for her work infuses her life, and she has changed many, many horse’s lives – and that of their owners, for the better.
Her continuing education is constant, and she’s able to effectively communicate with both horse owners and horse-care professionals.
The face of hoofcare has changed, and it now comes packaged in small but mighty packages. One of them is Tami Davis. Nebraska will miss you Tami, you’ve done an amazing job there. Thanks for all you’ve done for me and my horses. Maggie says to tell you “Hi”.

Hello Tami,
Just wanted to let you know how much we are going to miss you.
Not only us people, but our 2 horses will definitely miss you. I always admired your sure, steady way with them. And they always admired your gentleness and willingness to give their legs a break-- hold them lower, or take a breather, or rest in the sling.
With my young Mr. Smokey, I am impressed with the way he has responded to your care, since I brought him home this last year. Not only are his feet in tip top shape now, he is much less resistant to your requests -you have gently shaped him into a willing partner, there. I am proud of his feet now. You have physically transformed them into great working hooves, with that beautiful smooth roll, which I love...... and it discourages breaking up, also. Not just this physical transformation, but you have transformed my thinking about what it takes to have a better hoof, and how to "see" it. I have tried to soak up all your knowledge you give me in answer to my questions, and it is helping my horse life with Smokey: I appreciate that you educate about the "whole" horse: not just trims, but nutrition, timing, pasturing, boots, hay, supplement suggestions, etc. You have been a great asset to our horse community, and we appreciate your help and expertise.
Good luck in your new "neck of the woods"
Thanks again, Janet S.
Tami,
Here’s what I think your customers should know about our experience with you.
HISTORY
We have two horses with chronic laminitis. Furthermore, they’re insulin resistant. When our older horse had her first laminitis attach seven years ago, we were really worried and upset. Our current veterinarian recommended rocker shoes. We tried that. It didn’t work. We then tried other types of shoes. None worked. Fortunately a friend gave me Jaime Jackson’s book, “Horse Owner’s Guide.” After studying that, I actually went to Arkansas and took the barefoot trimming class from Jaime. I then trimmed our two horses for several years myself.

The biggest problem with trimming only your own horses is that you don’t stay up to speed on techniques and you really don’t get enough experience to know exactly what to do if something unusual comes up. So, you stay in contact with other barefoot trimmers. The latter allowed us to meet Tami when she started her trimming career in Nebraska. Once Tami started trimming our horses, she fixed a toeing in problem because of the precision she could achieve in heel alignment. The shapes of both horses feet consistently improved.
Both horses continue to have laminitis attacks, but we always know what to do. Instead of getting worse each time, they’re less severe because their feet are well kept. Of course we have feet and exercise regimens in place as well.
We highly recommend Tami for her knowledge and skill.

I have certainly appreciated your careful trimming with both my older horse Merry Gold and my younger horse MyT Gold. Both have had issues that you have been very patient yet persistent. Merry Gold's injuries/arthritis in her front left foreleg and your kindness and working to keep her as comfortable as possible - keeping her leg as low as possible in trimming was especially appreciated. Your additional knowledge about feeding and the effects on hooves has been very helpful, too.
I certainly will miss you, Tami, and wish you the best. Hope to see you in Oregon someday.

Approximately 10 years ago I began my journey on finding out all I could about the horses' hoof. The reason being was that while my Kentucky Mtn. gelding was suffering from constant abscessing from previous laminitis/founder and/or stretched white line, a farrier at the time gave me two options on what he thought I could do. Those two options were either put pads and shoes on him for $300 per month OR put him down. Well, needless to say, that pretty much did nothing but infuriate me into the journey. Around the midwest, specifically eastern Nebraska, we were very limited on choices of barefoot trimmers. Generally, there were the ole farrier; whether schooled or self-taught to trim and shoe. I found a good farrier/trimmer (I thought), but come to find out after several years and without any success in eliminating the stretched white line, that he was only doing the basic "farrier" trim and leaving the toes still too long, and unwilling to look into the barefoot trim.
FINALLY approximately three years ago, I was given Tami Davis' name who was in the area and doing the trained barefoot trim. I jumped on that as quickly as possible and got ahold of her. It obviously took several months to see the improvement and the success of her trims, only because the horse's hoof takes time to grow and show evidence. I was tickled to death every time we saw a 'new' hoof result such as the white line shrinking, the horizontal lines diminishing as the hoof grew down leaving a smooth hoof wall, and this last year on the same above mentioned horse, we were seeing CONCAVITY!!! I was totally thrilled!!
While talking about many things and, of course, the hoof, we had mentioned many times that we wished we had started taking pictures right off the bat to be able to visually compare the improvements. I watched them occur, but kick myself in the back side for not documenting. Live and learn I guess; but mostly, knowing that Tami was going to be returning every month to trim was such a serious relief for me. I love my horse dearly and before she came to our area, I was worried that PJ would never become fully sound. He can walk on all terrain without flinching bare-hooved.
Tami is not only a wonderful barefoot trimmer, but significantly knowledgeable in good horse health, equine cushings, insulin resistance, supplementation, and much more!
I am forever grateful to Tami for what she has done for my horse, but more so as she took it upon herself to mentor two other trimmers in our area and make sure they were qualified to follow her work. I highly recommend Tami for your horse's hoof care. I will be forever thankful and never will forget what she has done for us. I am truly going to miss her.
Thank you Tami!!
